Bangkok Futon is owned by Parichat Chaiburee (Pum) and Jay Werba. Jay moved to Thailand in 1996, and while enjoying Bangkok, he always missed the futon he slept on back in San Francisco. Looking around the various shopping malls and furniture stores in Bangkok, he could never find anything comparable to the wood frame futon he enjoyed using back in the US. There were, and still are, plenty of mass produced sofa beds, but nothing that could compare to the natural wood frame futon.

Thinking that there might be other expats and Thais who appreciate handcrafted wood furniture, Jay and Pum began manufacturing futons.

While it sounds a cliché, it is absolutely true that our customers are our most important assets. If our customers are happy and satisfied, then our business will grow. Therefore, our relationship with the customer extends well beyond the initial transaction. Our reputation depends on our quality and service. We would never sell a futon that we would not be proud to own and sleep on ourselves. And continuing customer satisfaction is imperative to our success. If there is ever any problem at all with a futon purchased from Bangkok Futon, we will take care of it immediately. Our reputation, and therefore, our very survival, depends on it.
